Southern Indiana
Junior High Soccer Conference
Just a couple points
of clarification:
·
Rosters should be
submitted before the tournament begins, and a player may only play on one team.
·
Home team is
responsible for bringing 3 game balls for Saturday games.
·
For all
tournament games, including 1st round games and team’s home fields,
we should use 30 minute
halves, but use a running clock (no time stoppage for goals) as this is the way
Saturday’s tournament will be conducted.
Time stoppages for injuries are still permitted and applied at the
referees discretion. You will most
likely need to review these changes with the referee and with the opposing
coach prior to match to avoid any confusion.
·
We are planning
on using a 3-man crew on Saturday (Center ref and 2 – A/R’s). However for 1st round games, the
Home team is responsible for the referees and the 2-man system is acceptable.
Tournament Scoring and Tie-Breaker Scenario:
Point system: 3 points for win, 1 for tie, 0 for loss.
No tie breakers for
individual games. Tie breakers get
applied at the bracket level.
Tie-Breakers in order of priority:
1. Head to Head between teams tied in points
2. Goal differential up to 3 per game
3. Fewest goals allowed – Total
4. Most goals scored – maximum 5 goals per game
5. PK’s – follow IHSAA PK process below.
PK
Rules – Championship games only or if required based on 4-team bracket:
A. If the score still remains tied, all coaches, officials, and team captains shall assemble at the halfway line to review the procedure as outlined below:
1. The head referee shall choose the goal at which all of the kicks from the penalty line shall be taken.
2. Each coach will select any five players on or off the field (except those who may have been disqualified) to take the kicks.
3. A coin toss shall be held as in Rule 5-2-2(e). the team winning the toss shall have the choice of kicking first or second.
4. Teams will alternate kickers. There is no follow-up on the kick
5. The defending team may change the goal keeper prior to each penalty kick.
6. Following five kicks for each team, the tea scoring on the greatest number of these kicks shall be declared the winner.
7. Add one goal to the winning team score and credit the team with a victory. An asterisk (*) may be placed by the team advancing to indicate the advancement was the result of a tie breaker system.
8. The coach and team shall remain on the sideline during the penalty kicks.
B. If the score remains tied after each team has had five kicks:
1. Each coach will select five different players than the first five who already have kicked to take the kicks in a sudden victory situation, wherein if one team scores and the other team does not score, the game is ended without move kicks being taken.
2. If the score remains tied, continue the sudden victory kicks with the coach selecting any five players to take the next set of alternating kicks. If a tie still remains, repeat B-1.
C. The coach and the remainder of the team shall remain on the team sideline during the penalty kick portion of the overtime period.
